Diptej Vernekar's work is essentially an exploration into how objects, spaces, and nature, things that are constantly in flux, become such an essential part of one’s identity. With a focus on how all of these have a major impact on memory formation, Vernakar’s works can be best described as visual poems. He stitches the fragments of memory, playing around with fleeting moments in time, all for the viewer to see and understand that nothing is actually fixed. Sometimes mediums that he uses, drive the work, and sometimes the concept drives the mediums.
Vernekar completed his bachelor’s degree from the Goa College of Art and his master’s degree in fine art from the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication. He has also been featured in Forbes India’s 30 under 30.
