Kapil Jangid

Kapil is a visual artist whose focus is to depict urban and rural spaces within a variety of contexts. He experiments with architectural renovation and preservation. His journey with living spaces began with fictional cities and localities he came across in his childhood. The materials he chooses depend upon the societal issues he engages in. Memory blends in his practice with an earthy tone and interacts with his utopian imagination. He also brings democratic and environmental discourses into his work as a means of awareness.

Situated in Baroda, Kapil’s studio is a surprising union of tradition and experimentation with time.
