Inspired by people, places, and culture, Namrata Kumar tries to capture the essence of a place and evoke its spirit through her artworks. She exercises her command over color to communicate a variety of emotions. Her meticulous work process is divided into 3 steps: deciding on the subject, which is often inspired by her travels, deciding the medium (acrylic and oil-pastel being some of her favorites) and finally, choosing the color palette, which depends on the subject and sets the mood of the painting. Her women are painted in vibrant colors, often illustrating a feminine bond.
Namrata Kumar works out of peaceful, compact studio space with plenty of natural light and greenery in New Delhi.
